Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026
Kapti is a screen capture platform with on-device AI features, cloud workspace storage, and optional cloud audio transcription. This policy explains what data we collect, where it's stored, how long we keep it, and what rights you have.
What we collect
Account data (email, name, hashed password), workspace data (members, roles, settings), and the captures you save to your workspace. Saving captures to your workspace uploads their media. Title generation, OCR, and privacy scanning use on-device models in your browser via WebGPU/WASM; model downloads may be needed. Optional audio transcription processes your media with Cloudflare Workers AI when requested.
Where your data is stored
Captures are stored in encrypted Cloudflare R2 buckets. Metadata is in Cloudflare D1 (SQLite at the edge). Sessions and rate-limit counters live in Cloudflare KV. We never replicate your data outside the Cloudflare network.
Retention
Free workspaces: captures auto-delete 30 days after creation. Trashed captures (in any plan): auto-delete 30 days after being moved to trash. Paid workspaces (Pro, Team, Business, Enterprise): live captures are kept indefinitely until you delete them; only trash is auto-purged after 30 days. You can delete any capture or your entire account at any time from the dashboard.
Your rights
You can export all your captures, download your account data, or permanently delete your account from Settings. Deletion is immediate and irreversible. To exercise any rights under GDPR, CCPA, or similar regulations, email privacy@kapti.app.
